Sep 9, 2008 - Great vid man! I have the same case. Do you think this setup is good? 2.20 E4500 (Core 2 DUO) 2 9600gt Alpha Dog Editions 2 GB Corsair RAM 750 Watt PSU 680i LT SLI mobo 20x DVD R/WR If I was going to update one of those, which one do you think it would be? Again, awesome vid!

Sep 10, 2008 - thx for the comment and the build you have listed is great bro good stuff :] if i can think of anything to change would possibly be the grafics cards only reason is because the 9600gt is around $130 correct me if im wrong lol running 2 is near the amount of a 260 GTX plus some change;or a HD4870 dependin on what you are accustomed to im a NVIDIA guy but when i saw the benchmarks that the 4870 was doing i had to change my mind =] GL with the build and need anymore advice/help feel free to ask

felix2542 Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - Awesome! I do have a small question... I have my two 9600s running in SLI, I think. How do I know if they are? (Running in SLI)Thanks!

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - well from my nvidia use i didnt have the chance to grab a 2nd card because of the price at the time but i looked into using the SLI mode for a whil and from my understanding all you do is DL the correct drivers, from there you can find the NVIDIA control panel by hunting in the start up menu or simply right clicking the desktop.

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - (comment continued) ...for me it might be different because i have vista, winXP is a lil diff nd i vaguely remember but i do know its in the NVIDIA control panel so try there first. keep me posted on how it pans out.

felix2542 Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - i have Vista too. I checked the control panel, and it says SLI Enabled. However, when I had only one card running, I got the same results I do now.

felix2542 Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - I'm actually thinking of buying a Q9550 processor...will that improve my sytem?

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - hmm thats weird well there two things i can think of that might help. 1. visit the nvidia website for any hotfixes, fourms, or latest drivers (could be a small issue with the OS and the SLI technology) or you could manaually overclock the cards with Rivatuner and bump up the specs. But it does seem a little odd that its enabled in SLI yet your gettin the same performance..

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - wow thats a nice choice shits on my cpu haha my only recommendation is a very good cpu cooler i "HIGHLY" (and i stress highly) recommend liquid cooling. only reason is because with my Q6600 running at 2.88GHz on crysis maxed out 1650x1050 gets nothin but troubles and at 3.0GHz i get the same cept an occasional freeze or whatnot. so if money isn't an option then liquid cooling ALL THE WAY =]

felix2542 Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - that's awesome idea. I've been loking at the 760i Liquid Cooling thingy, but it lok scomplicated to install in my Lexa Blackline.

felix2542 Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - I had already oc'd with riva to 770, but i don't know if i oc's both cards.

felix2542 Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - hehe. I subscribed to you. you've been a great help.

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - should be easy i know that my case has pre-drilled holes for liquid cooling so i would do liquid cooling myself but i havnt found a system that offers "red" coolant for the reservoir since my case is a red theme :] but glad i could be of some help to you come back if you need any other help -Stone Gate.

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - hmm thats puzzling the very last option i have that could be of some use is that you should contact the manufacture i presume it would be XFX either a call or a email would do. talk to the people responsible for the card and get their inside thoughts about it or any advice that i may have missed hope they help you out =]

felix2542 Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - yeah...thanks man for all your help. actually another guy here said that i need more than 2 gigs of RAM to have SLI, so maybe since I'm getting the Q9550 and 2 gigs from amazon this weekend, that might help.

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Sep 12, 2008 - ya hopefully it does help let me know what happens bro GL

nytevizion Says:

Oct 5, 2008 - Too much stutter... That PC needs some TLC. high FPS, but stutter is annoying..

StoneGateFilmStudio Says:

Oct 6, 2008 - ya the stutter is from everything maxed + (stupid) fraps set to rec on 60 fps lol normal play is outstanding :] thx for the comment
