STS-72 Endeavour night landing, filmed from North Richland Hills (where we lived at that time), Texas, January 20, 1996, at 2:41 am EST. I recently pulled this off of old home video (Sony Handycam) and converted it using eyeTV. Sorry it's so much grainier than our other videos, but it was the best we had at the time and I converted it as soon as it was possible. Music: Samurai Ghost, by Skaven

Oct 7, 2008 - Thanks! Unfortunately, the video has degraded a tiny bit, and video does little to capture such a moment, but the video is still pretty cool to watch. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I hope to see one again some day. Mostly a matter of keeping abreast of the shuttle's activities.

Oct 24, 2008 - The music captures and reflects the nature of this amazing moment. It is very breath-taking to observe the space shuttle and imagining those men inside going very rapidly. I wish I could have seen this live but at least I as able to take a look at it in this video thanks to you. :)

Oct 25, 2008 - Thank you so much, my fellow Prager fan. :D This is one of only two times I've seen the shuttle in flight, the other in orbit docked to the international space station (looked like a massive satellite in twilight). I learned of these two events on the news and made sure to not miss them. The other experience was having heard the Columbia breaking up overhead. I didn't know what it was that instant, but I'll never forget it. Unsettling. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Take care.

Nov 17, 2008 - Awesome! I especially love seeing the little girl watching this. Perhaps she will be the pilot of a spaceship one day. :)

Nov 17, 2008 - Thank you. She's our (then) neighbor's daughter who by now is in the middle of high school. And I wouldn't doubt she has what it takes to be on one in the future. I wish my daughter was born to see this as well, but it predates her. HOWEVER, the Endeavor is in the sky as we speak, and I plan to see if I can't video it coming back as well. I know it'll be in the daytime, but am looking into if it will be at all visible to video again. :)

Nov 17, 2008 - Now is a great time for your daughter to get into space studies, if she is interested. By the time she is old enough, there should be a lot of companies looking for space flight personnel. I am minoring in Space Studies and until I started my program, I didn't realize how much is actually going on in this field. It just doesn't make it into the mainstream news like it should. Hope to see a video of Endeavor, if possible. Hest regards. :)
