Oct 24, 2008 - tadsky2004, Actually it's very healthy to laugh at ourselves once in a while. It's a sign of emotional maturity. As you saif everybody has thier own imperfection so why bother boeng perfect in the eyes of others. As long as it's not taken seriously it's totally okay. We as pinoys are also fond of this kind of humor. We had practically sterotype everthing from blacks to indians even maids. In fact pinoy humor is usually base on sarcasm.

Oct 24, 2008 - I'm a Filipino and I don't think this is offensive. Filipinos are just so ego maniacs that they don't want to be discriminated by other races. Filipinos always want to extend their ego through our boxers, billiard players and singers. But gets so offended whenever another race makes any negative statements against the Philippines. I think there's nothing wrong with this skit. There's no problem on making jokes once in a while. And sometimes I hate to say I'm Filipino, this race is so egotistic.

Nov 4, 2008 - There is nothing good in racism? A racist joke goes along way I think. My friends an I come from different places, ones indian, chinese, im white english, etc. We all tell racist jokes about each of our cultures/race/religion an have a plentiful laugh about it. Racism will always be around and so will stereotypes. Standard.

Nov 4, 2008 - I have an amah/maid, and I asked her what she thought of this. She laughed and said ''it's comedy of course'' I then asked her about peoples replies an she said '' people need to get a life and realize that this is just comedy, not to be taken literally.'' If she can see it, why cant the rest of you!
Ingamells17 Says:
Nov 4, 2008 - I couldn't agree more.

bonnalynjade Says:
Nov 6, 2008 - well, if they just didn't mention or specify the maid as filipina, maybe it wouldn't be.for some, it may just be purely comedy. But I guess, we must at least consider if we were pointing or being offensive at anyone at any cost...
TeeJoe18 Says:
Nov 7, 2008 - bonnalynjade, Pwede ba yun? Pwede bang Ms.X ang tawag sa Ms.Saigon? How about these clips "Instik pinugutan ng ulo" and "Bombay Jokes". Di ba specific rin ang mga yun? It's a Comedy show it's nothing personal so hindi yan offensive. We have our own Pinoy Humor which does the same or worst sarcastic jokes than this.

Oct 24, 2008 - What criteria did you use to label it "very mild"? There's nothing good in racism. It promotes divisiveness. The world has already seen the worst of it during WWII. Im not familiar with "South Park and Family Guy". Perhaps the writers/producer of the show didnt fully understand Filipino values and culture. No race nor nationality is PERFECT. Instead of mocking each other for their mistake or "strange ways", why don't we promote the common good among us all. After all, we are all one specie.
