Not all the news about evacuees and shelters in Louisiana is bad. Dorthea Short of Houma, Louisiana was evacuated to Hirsh Coliseum, a FEMA and Red Cross operated shelter in Shreveport, LA. Short says she noticed a 92 year old woman on the ground after she got off the critical transport bus. The woman needed help. Dorthea "adopted" her, as so many evacuees did during this ordeal. Oh, not that race is a factor to everyone, but it was pointed out to me that the elderly woman is white. Recorded on September 05, 2008 using a Flip Video camcorder. Interview and story: Sherri Talley of KTBS 3 News.
