Coming south on Track 2 in the footsteps of Q-439 (Selkirk, NY - Hamlet, NC), is CSX Q-118 hotshot intermodal/stack (Chicago, IL - Little Ferry, NJ - North Bergen, NJ - South Kearny, NJ), with C44-9W 9041 and ES44DC 5430 leading this rather lengthy hotshot, with it's stop at Little Ferry Yard just ahead past CP 5 via NYSW connector at CP 5. Q-118 makes a several minute stop for signal indication to proceed thru CP 5 to Little Ferry Yard, so in order not to exceed the 10 minute video limit, I made this in two parts. Not one section of this train was missed!! Scanner chatter from NJT, Amtrak and Conrail as well, along with the Bogota (NJ Defect Detector (MP 7.2)

Oct 26, 2008 - Awesome! Great horn. How many trains pass through Ridgefield? I might have to check it out sometime.

Oct 26, 2008 - The count is between 35 and 40 a day, with the slow days being Sunday thru Tuesday, but even slow days can make for good watching. Late afternoon's best!!!!

Oct 27, 2008 - Also, if you have a scanner, and are in New Jersey, you can listen in on the River Sub on frequency 160.980 Mhz.

Oct 27, 2008 - Did I also mention coming by here between 2PM and darkness will also net you some NYSW action, primarily WS-1, WS-2, sometimes even WS-3 and 4, and during the summer periods when the light period is longer, you can also get lucky and catch NYSW road freight SU-99 heading west with a hodge podge mix of SD40T-2 ex-SP Tunnel Motors and an even more remarkable F45.
