Who is to blame for this mess? This was the official claim that got my video taken down. I put these ***** to cover information that does not need to be made public record, but you will still get the full effect of the letter. So if this is true that Viacom did not take this down, which at this point I am inclined to agree (considering this was sent to me directly from youtube themselves and should not have been altered by them to protect Viacom, then youtube is to blame for allowing DMCA claims to be made by unverified sources and acting on them as if they were fact. My next video would present a possible solution so this does not happen to anyone else.

Nov 9, 2008 - It's an interesting issue and not just for copy right issues. Have you noticed the number of items that get an 18 y/o and above notice on them due to content, but when you view them there is nothing on it would make it R rated or above. It seems to me that youtube simply take complaints on face value and place restrictions on the content without investigating and I'm sure particular religious & right wing groups are well aware of this.

Dec 1, 2008 - This is because copyright laws aren't specific and need to be updated to fit the standards of today. As mad as many people will be at youtube they can't do much because they are simply following the law. We are the ones that need to petition for this to change. Political campaigns were having the same issues with fairuse this year.

Sep 22, 2008 - I dunno if I was a victim of Youtube's injustice or my own stupidity but I posted up several Top 10 lists of videogame music to show my appreciation of them, giving them copyright down to the individual musicians themselves which very few others do, and within a week and a half my account was suspended and Youtube never told me WHY they did it other than "several terms of use violations" I gave the copyright, others have similar videos and are still here but I got shut down. What do you think?
