Twice this year, I have had the opportunely to travel to the DRC. While there, I was asked by the Lwiro Chimpanzee sanctuary, based in the village of Lwiro close to the city of Bukavu, to make promo film of there work, to help in funding campaigns. This video, however, Is not the promo, but rather just a mash of shoots put together by editor Daniel Qurido, and does not give a clear indication what the Lwiro sanctuary is all about giving our closest living relative there freedom back. However, I thought that now was the time to get these shoot out to the public as the political situation in the DRC has deteriorated, or let me rather say, yet another war has broken out. Laurent Nkunda`s Tutsi rebels have taken (and slaughtered) many villages close to Goma, should he advance toward Bukavu, and take Lwiro, the Chimps and the villagers there caretakers, would stand a uncertain future.
