Guam- In the coming years, a lot of work will be done to prepare the island for the arrival of more military troops and their families who will be stationed here on our shores, and this week federal officials paid a visit to the island to see for themselves some of the challenges Guam faces as we prepare for this huge build up. Public Health Director Pete Roberto says the visit was an opportunity for the federal officials to see what exactly will be needed to facilitate the build up, and prepare the island for the arrival of the 8-thousand marines and their families. The big issue however remains to be funding and where how much the federal government will be willing to fork over to assist the island in the coming years. The visit was at the request of Governor Felix Camacho who met with the federal regional council in San Francisco earlier this year. Lorensen is now off to Saipan to visit with government officials out there.
