Cadillac STS 2007-08 models mfg. after Aug. 2006 SIDE IMPACT TEST WITH STANDARD SIDE AIRBAGS OVERALL EVALUATION: Acceptable Injury measures Head protection Structure/safety cage Head/neck Torso Pelvis/leg Driver Good Acceptable Poor Good Acceptable Rear passenger Good Good Good Good Important: Side impact crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle type and weight categories. Test details: The Cadillac STS was introduced in the 2005 model year as a replacement for the Seville. Beginning with 2007 models built after August 2006, the B-pillars were reinforced and the front door trim panels and side torso airbags were changed to improve occupant protection in side-impact crashes (note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door). The tested car was manufactured after the modifications had been made. Injury measures: Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate that a fracture of the pelvis would be likely in a crash of this severity. Rib fractures and/or internal organ injuries would also be possible. Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity. Head protection: Driver — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof and a side airbag that deployed from the seat. Rear passenger — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

Sep 7, 2008 - Wow

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - Ah ha, got the lowest score for the rear test

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I feel quite safe in my Civic, but I would like the crumple zone to be longer. Hey firedemon, you like Mercedes and Volvo and stuff, right? Well, pity JD Power rates Mercedes, Volvo, Audi and BMW lower in reliability than Honda, Toyota, Acura and Lexus.

JoelEVO32 Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - well for your information, well umm LOL!

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - Go on, argue with facts

USFCARTWRIGHT Says:

Sep 8, 2008 - yeah dude hes right. hondas are rated of the highest in jd power. as well as safety. kind of why honda got 87? points for their vehicles in the past 10 years. next was toyota, with 85. and mercedes got 60-65 i think. something like that.

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - It got "Acceptable". And it's a Cadillac. Which means it's a good American luxo car.

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - Acceptable? The Civic which is a lot lower than the STS. I though that since Cadillac was so luxurious, it was supposed to raise the bar in safety. But hey, it's from GM. And the pathetic rear crash test rating

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - The CTS pwns the Civic so hard in safety. And it's a good thing that's it's a GM.

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - ROFL, man, that gave me a good laugh. Why don't you look at the beginning of the video. See?? The Civic got the highest rating for all three IIHS tests and the Caddy got the second highest for the side and the lowest for the rear test

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - The Caddy (2008) got all "Good" ratings, and the Top Safety Pick.

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - Well, then, how is the Civic owned? The funny thing is, that while the smaller CTS is a TSP, the more upscale STS get quite poor ratings for 2008

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - btw, what GM SUV competes with the CR-V?

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 9, 2008 - At least "Acceptable" is still 2 levels away from being "Poor".

USFCARTWRIGHT Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - GM SUCKS! they cant create shit. why does consumer reports, car and driver, and everyone else have honda rated better than ANY GM manufacturer by 15 points!!! the only thing good about gm is the h1 alpha.

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - Give out your opinion somewhere else

USFCARTWRIGHT Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - give out my "opinion" these are facts.. and whether you realize it or not. I wrote something here before you, so why dont YOU go give out your "opinions" on some other video. because while you have opinions, i have facts. now because i cant give you a link to this, you actually spend 5 minutes and go searching.

GMminivans9968 Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - That is your pure opinion.

alexkvaskov Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - Yeah, man, you're right. And JD Power rates Honda higher than most GM brands
