Kevins P.O.V I woke up instantly to the sound of the door creaking. I shot down the stairs and grabbed Nick by the shoulders. "WHERE WERE YOU?! YOU HAD ME WORRIED SICK! I THOUGHT YOU GOT IN A CAR CRASH!! IT WOULD'VE HELPED IF YOU CALLED!" I shreeked "Geeze calm down mom." He said jokingly. "I did call you. You didn't pick up." "You only called once!?" I saw Rosie cowering behind nick so i lowered my voice. "Where were you two?" "Well, you see its a funny story...that's why Rosies gonna tell you." He said pushing her forward. Rosie waved. "Hi kevin, your hair looks shinny tonight." "Don't change the subject!" "Right, well um..we were at carleis party..and uh, nick." She pushed him forward and my temper was rising every second. "JUST TELL WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!" "Ok, we were in jail." "What?! What did you do?!" "Someone planted beer at Carleis party, and people started to get drunk. The police came so we panicked and ran. They caught up to us but Rosies dad paid bail." I lowerd my head in shame. "I thought i taught you better. I'VE BEEN PUTTING A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD SINCE I WAS 17! 3 YEARS NICK! AND YOU REPAY ME BUT GETTING YOUR ASS THROWN IN JAIL!" "I'm sorry! It wasn't my fault!" "Then why were you the one put in jail?" "We don't know! They just suspected us for no appearent reason. I said i was sorry!" I looked up at him with anger. "Where's Joe?" "He's at Carlei's." "Did he get drunk?" "No." "Good.Now go upstairs, you're grounded. I'll take Rosie home." He nodded sadly and headed up the stairs with tears glisening in his eyes. "Cmon." I said grabbing my keys. We drove in silence. When i parked at the curb she sat there with tears rolling down her eyes. "I'm sorry kevin." She said softly. I leaned over and hugged her. "It's ok. But don't do it again." She opened the door and closed it. I watched her walk up to her house just make sure she was ok then i headed to Carlei's house. I rang the door bell but nobody answered so i checked the knob..it was unlocked. I first looked down stairs and saw nor heard any sign of them. I ran up the stairs as quietly as i could and checked the bedrooms. When i came to carleis room i saw them sound alseep. I walked over to Joe and turned the lamp that was on the night stand on. He cracked his eyes a little then blinked. "Get up." I said, not whispering. "Shh, you're gonna wake her." He answered sleepily. "That's not my biggest probelem. Now get up, NOW." I said pulling the covers off of him. Thankfully he had pants on. "Did you...?" "No i didn't sleep with her. Well i mean i was sleeping with her but not in the way you were thinking, which quiet frankly offends-" "Just shut up and put your shoes on!" I saw carlei with her eyes open staring at the ceiling. "Sorry if i woke you up." "You don't sound like your sorry." Joe said bending down. She turned on her side and looked at me. I tried searching her face for an expression but nothing was there. Joe stopped what he was doing and looked up at me. "Wait, why are you here?" "Nick told me everything. Now get in the car." "I told nick to tell you i was spending the night with carlei. She broke her ankle and-" "Now.." I growled. He finished tying his shoe and kissed carlei goodbye. "Call me if you need anything." "Don't count on it. Give me your phone." He was about to protest but i starred at him with my hand held out. He dropped his phone into my hand. "You're being a jerk." He retorted. "At least im a jerk without a criminal record." I shot back. He went down the stairs by twos and got in the car. I sat down and stared at him. "It was you who brought the beer, wasn't it?" "Not now kev. Just bring me home." "I knew it. I thought we talked about this." I said putting the car in gear. "I thought it would lighten the mood up when i told Carlei about the kiss. I didn't know that someone took the beer until the cops came." "Why..I thought you were finished with beer for good." I replied. "I'm sorry. Can we not talk about it?" "Joe, i'm trying to give you a life. But you keep getting it messed up. I've been calling mom and dad and-" "You talk to them!?After what they did to us!?" "Look, they didn't mean it. But we have been talking and they think it's best for you to go live with them." I said, trying to hide the fact that i was about to cry. I don't want my brother to live with my parents. After what they did, it's hard to trust them. But if its the only way to teach Joe a lesson.. "You're kidding me right?" He starred at me. "If it's the only way bu-" "You actually agreed?! I thought you were my brother!" "Let me finish! This is hard for me too ok!? I don't want you to live with them! You're my brother and i love you. I'm trying to tell you that you have to stop! With everything!" We were silent for a while. "Did you really agree to it?" I looked over at him to see tears welling up in his eyes. "I told them i'll think about it. But right now the answer is no. I wouldnt do that to you."
